What to look for
Look for what children choose to do. A shelf holds a few trays at a time, each with pieces a child can carry and put back. Small groups gather at tables or on the floor. Photos often show the order of the room: blocks here, books there, art within reach. Watch for hands busy and faces calm. That is the day at work.
